Notes from LT Jacob Absalon
FYI Last spring Maxey students and staff collected over 300 Beanie Babies, sent letters and
supplies to Afghanistan.
....The kids loved the beanie babies. We've tried organize hand-outs; more or less turned
area. The children always ask for pens, papers, etc when we get a chance to actually talk
with them, which unfortunately is rarely. They are eager to learn, and walk miles to school
of the most frustrating aspects of this nation is the lack of education in the soldiers and
local leaders I deal have to work with in an effort towards progress. The school supplies
help with the next generation.
